Patrick Swayze: Now Kicking Angels In The Throat

Published by at 10:04 pm under Eulogies

Patrick Swayze finally succumbed to pancreatic cancer.  Honestly, I never thought he’d live this long given how nasty a disease that is, but the fact that he made it through a whole season of The Beast (a really damn good show, by the way) and lived this long is pretty impressive.  You can’t say he didn’t fight the good fight, much like he did in the movies he did that didn’t involve dancing around or wearing a dress.

While browsing on YouTube for appropriat clips, I ran across a lot of love for the wonderfully bad Road House.  I considered using a clip from that movie, but then I figured… that’s what everyone’s going to do.  I mean, it’s Road House!  The best karate guy bartender movie starring Terry Funk ever!  So I figured I’d be different and do the trailer for my favorite Patrick Swayze movie, Red Dawn.

Personally, my favorite Swayze movie has to be “To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything”–Swayze, Leguizamo and Snipes as surprisingly good-looking drag queens.

Leguizamo, for the first 15 minutes of the movie, I thought was an actual woman!

Leguizamo, I think I knew, but Swayze–damn, he was just too gorgeous.
