Embracing My Destiny As Andy Rooney Jr.

Published by at 10:54 pm under Den of Geek,Shameless Self Promotion,Television

Somehow, I’ve become Den of Geek’s version of Andy Rooney.  For those of you who aren’t total nerds and who aren’t 1,000 years old (and regular viewers of 60 Minutes), Andy Rooney is this bitter old man who gets on TV despite being in the throes of pants-shitting senility and rants and raves about how everything these days sucks and that life was better back in the 1950’s when Negroes had their own water fountains and a woman who worked outside the home was either a whore or a lesbian.  Possibly both.

Anyway, I’m becoming that guy.  The bitter old geezer who yells at the kids about their damn lawn-trampling and who rages about how things used to be better than they are now.  Fox respected their sci-fi shows.  The Sci-Fi Channel wasn’t called SyFy and showed science fiction!  And now, the latest in my long series of “Things were better back in my teen years” articles, Cartoon Network was better back when they showed only cartoons.

I was fine when they were showing good shows, and I could ignore Tim and Eric/Saul of the Mole Men, but Snake and Bacon was one awful step too far.  I finally snapped.  Call me crazy, but I WANT a network that only shows fucking cartoons.
