NaBloPoMo

Published by at 11:44 pm under Blog Business

I have a question for my fellow NaBloPoMofos out there.   Since you started posting daily, have you noticed a sharp uptick in traffic for your blog?  I certainly have.  Whether it’s from my posts being better in content or due to the magic of regular and steady updates, my blog has gone up pretty sharply from its October numbers.

Of course, I’m not sure if October was a full month on this platform, but I do know my total hit aggretate has gone up by 1000.  That’s a pretty sharp rise, don’t you think?  That begs the question:  What’s the cause?

If you fine folks could comment here (Holly and LeBlanc, and anyone else who might know the power of daily posts), I’d love to know if you’ve noticed any changes in your blog traffic.  I’ve had a very impressive jump, even over my WordPress.com days, so I’m wondering if that’s the magic solution to raise the number of hits for any blog or website-type project.

Honestly, it hasn’t made much of a difference, at least not from October. I had to go to my statcounter to look it up–I’m not so hot at keeping track. Really, I think I have a handful of readers who are kind enough to subscribe and read whenever I post, whether it’s daily or not. I’m very fortunate to have such. I just don’t attract many new readers. But, I have bloggers I follow in the same way.

You’re kicking tail on here lately, though, and getting linked helps your Google juice. Kudos :).

Hahaha, just noticed that you called us “NaBloPoMofos.” That’s a *snork*-er.

Is Google juice orange or pineapple or normalapple or what? It sounds delicious.

Yeah, I thought the NaBlo joke was a pretty good one, too. Considering it ends in -Mo I figured it was the obvious one, but I’m not the sort to turn down any joke when it presents itself.

I figure that’s what I have/had too, but that maybe the linkage is helping expand my audience, or I’m getting more traffic via post tags or something. I dunno, I just know I’m pulling in much higher numbers than my usual 10.

I have noticed a small spike is visits, like maybe 9-10% or so. It appears that I have my normal people as well and a few new stragglers/lurkers.

Hmm, interesting. Like I’ve got a serious 20% spike over here, even on the days when I post crap nobody should be interested in but me. It’s the damnedest thing.
